Call of Duty Next 2025 showcased the latest developments in the iconic franchise, with a spotlight on the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. Scheduled for release on November 14, 2025, the event featured developers from Treyarch, Raven Software, High Moon Studios, and Beenox, who shared insights on Multiplayer, Zombies, Warzone, and Call of Duty: Mobile. Attendees also received early details about this weekend’s Black Ops 7 Beta.

Black Ops 7 will launch with 18 playable maps. The event highlighted six of them—Blackheart, Cortex, Exposure, The Forge, Imprint, and Toshin—which players can experience in the upcoming Beta. Developers emphasized innovations aimed at improving accessibility and fluidity across skill levels.

New environments include Japan’s covert Guild facilities, Alaskan wilderness scenes based on David Mason’s childhood, and a high-tech solar array in the Australian Outback. In addition to classic modes such as Team Deathmatch, Domination, and Hardpoint, the Beta will introduce the Overload mode.

In Overload, teams must capture and transport the Overload Device to one of the opponent’s control zones. Its location appears on both HUD and Tac-Map, and carriers gain additional map intel. The device continuously changes hands, challenging teams to protect their player while pushing toward the objective.

The game’s Omnimovement system, first seen in Black Ops 6, is refined with new mechanics, including triple wall jumps for reaching high platforms and crossing dangerous drops.

Black Ops 7 will also feature the Overclock System, allowing players to unlock and customize Equipment, Field Upgrades, and Scorestreaks. Players can now share Weapon Builds via unique codes, enabling friends and communities to replicate favored setups.

The Zombies experience reunites familiar characters Dempsey, Nikolai, Takeo, and Richtofen with the returning heroes Weaver, Grey, Carver, and Maya. The new map, Ashes of the Damned, spans six areas—Janus Towers Plaza, Vandorn Farm, Blackwater Lake, Ashwood, Exit 115, and Zarya Cosmodrome—exploring the Dark Aether across multiple timelines and dimensions.

Players can drive the new Wonder Vehicle, Ol’ Tessie, a pick-up truck navigating the foggy terrain while collecting repair modules and upgrades. Additional new features include the Fireworks ammo mod, Wisp Tea companion, and Necrofluid Gauntlet Wonder Weapon.

More details on new modes, such as Cursed, are available on the Call of Duty Blog https://www.callofduty.com/blog.

The Haven’s Hollow Resurgence map introduces a small riverside town with antique Main Street and rural landscapes leading to foothills. Two new points of interest—Signal Station and remastered Factory—will also be added to Verdansk.

Movement mechanics have been updated: default Tac Sprint is removed, baseline operator speed is increased, and Perks like Mountaineer and Sprinter enhance tactical mobility with Combat Roll and Tactical Sprint options.

Call of Duty: Mobile marks its sixth anniversary with Season 9. Highlights include collaborations with WWE stars Alexa Bliss and Undertaker and the return of the Mythic Ghost Operator Skin. A new mode, DMZ: Recon, brings extraction shooter mechanics to the new Serpent’s Island map.
